Biography

After winning an election for an open seat in 2010, Judge Ellerbe began service as a Fulton County Superior Court Judge, Atlanta Judicial Circuit, on January 1, 2011. She has since that time won two re-election contests. The Fulton County Superior Court is a general jurisdiction trial court which handles felony criminal cases and civil cases, including family law matters. The Fulton Superior Court includes the Metro Atlanta Business Case Division. Judge Ellerbe is the Presiding, or Chief, Judge of Metro Atlanta Business Case Division and is on the Executive Committee of the Fulton Superior Court. She also served as the Adult Felony Drug Court Judge for 5 years.

Prior to winning her 2010 judicial election, Judge Ellerbe practiced civil litigation, including complex business litigation, in Atlanta for 17 years. Judge Ellerbe received her BBA in MIS from the University of Georgia, Terry College of Business (1990) and her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia School of Law (1993).

She is married to Harry L. (“Cokey”) Ellerbe III, resides in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia and is active in her local church.
